This policy outlines procedures regarding illness, contagious conditions, COVID-19 exposure, and infection control expectations for all in-office, community-based, and home-based services.

Persistent coughing
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Chills or body aches
New rash of unknown origin
Severe sore throat
Active contagious infections
Flu-like symptoms
Positive COVID-19 test or symptoms consistent with COVID-19
Families are asked to notify the office as soon as possible if a consumer or household member is ill prior to a scheduled appointment.

Remain home during the recommended isolation period.

Virtual services may be offered when clinically appropriate and authorized.
Exposure to COVID-19
If a patient, consumer, caregiver, or staff member has had close contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19:
Please notify the clinic as soon as possible
Monitoring for symptoms is strongly encouraged
Masking may be requested during sessions following recent exposure
The clinic reserves the right to temporarily transition services to virtual sessions when necessary to protect medically vulnerable individuals

SoCal Speech Therapy & Swallowing Diagnostics maintains infection prevention procedures that may include:
Hand hygiene before and after sessions

Right to Reschedule or Suspend Services
Our practice reserves the right to:
Reschedule sessions due to illness concerns
Transition sessions to telehealth when appropriate
Temporarily suspend in-person services if a significant health or safety risk exists
These measures are intended to protect patients, consumers, families, and staff while maintaining continuity of care whenever possible.
